With the skills gap in green construction now at critical stage, the key to the solution is partnership and collaboration. No one entity can solve the skills crisis in isolation, it requires a combined and sustained effort with people, businesses and educators who each bring something to the partnership. We at Taylor Lewis are delighted to be involved in this collaboration which is a perfect example of how the skills gap in green construction is addressed.

Devon County Council identifies tackling climate change as one of our key strategic priorities, with green skills and environmental technologies key to enable sustainable economic growth. GCAP provides a powerful network to identify, improve, develop, and disseminate green skills training and opportunities for those entering, upskilling, or reskilling in the construction and green sectors across Devon.

The connections we’ve made have informed our competency-based EWI courses, making them fit for purpose of upgrading the skills of our Approved Installers. Consequently, EWI Pro’s Training Academy courses allow our installers to install to PAS2035 standards. Through our partnership with the GCAP, we’ve expanded our reach and connections with education establishments, installers, social housing providers, and bodies in the sustainability sector. We’re proud to contribute to the industry’s growth, highlighted by our relationship with the GCAP and the newly constructed Retrofit Skills Centre at Exeter College.”
